Record electrified sales represented 70.0% of overall sales

Best month ever for redesigned Canadian-assembled RAV4 Hybrid

TORONTO, June 2, 2026 – Electrified vehicles led May Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) sales reaching a record of 19,403 electrified units sold in May 2026, up 50.3% year over year (YOY).

These record electrified sales represented 70.0% of overall sales, including May sales records for the Toyota bZ battery electric vehicles (BEV) and Toyota Prius Plug-in (PHEV), a strong second full month of sales for the newly launched Toyota C-HR BEV, as well as the start of sales of the bZ Woodland BEV.

The now fully electrified new generation 2026 RAV4 saw its Canadian-assembled Hybrid version reach a best month sales ever, for the second month in a row, up 113.3% YOY.

Prius family (record, up 70.2% YOY), RAV4 PHEV (record, up 277.2% YOY), Crown Signia (record, up 114.5% YOY), 4Runner Hybrid (up 28.3% YOY), Sienna (record, up 7.4% YOY), Lexus NX 450h+ (record, up 127.9% YOY) and Lexus RX 450h+ (record, up 63.0%) are amongst the other electrified nameplates that achieved significant May sales.

These electrified sales contributed significantly to overall TCI sales of 27,704 vehicles in May 2026, up 4.0% from May 2025.

Toyota Division recorded May sales of 24,633 units, up 6.7% YOY, with electrified sales representing 71.0% of all Toyota units sold.

Lexus Division April sales were down 13.6% YOY, with 3,071 units sold. Electrified vehicle sales represented 62.2% of overall Lexus sales.
